ABOUT
Christina Hélène Braa is a San Francisco–based singer, actor, and dancer whose work spans theatre, film, television, and live performance. Raised in the city’s Mission District, she began her training in classical ballet at the San Francisco Ballet School before continuing her studies at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, D.C and the Bolshoi Ballet. She earned her B.A. in Theatre from the University of Southern California.

A classically trained dancer, Christina performed with the San Francisco Ballet in The Nutcracker, Giselle, and Swan Lake, and later appeared in the Bolshoi Ballet’s production of La Bayadère. With the Kirov Academy, she performed in their productions of Sleeping Beauty and La Sylphide.
Christina has studied burlesque dance with Miss Marquez and Carolina Cerisola. She performs under the names Rita Rebel and Rita La Guërita.
She continues to work as a vocalist, studying with Deborah Shulman and performing harmony vocals with Bay Area Americana group Vince Charming Band.
Christina will originate the role of Karen Carpenter in the upcoming national tour of The Carpenter’s Songbook Live.

Her screen work includes the title role in Miss Brown, an official selection of the 2023 Tribeca Festival and a series-regular role in William Butler’s sci-fi horror series The Resonator: Miskatonic U. Additional film credits include Gemini (LA Shorts), Kept (LA Shorts), Strange Harvest, One (CIFF) and Veda in Paradise (Dance on Camera), a creative collaboration with Miss Brown director Christina Burchard. Most recently, Christina created an original pilot series called Hardy’s Home Improvements which she wrote, produced, and acted in. It is currently in post-production.
Onstage, Christina was part of the original cast of the Broadway national tour of Peter Pan and later performed as Miss Argentina in Norwegian Cruise Line’s production of Beetlejuice. She also served as a principal vocalist for Icons, a cabaret revue aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Viva.
